Persistence against resistance

From each and every nuisance

From every ability

To connect to reality

We’ve come past enthusiasm

Defining our ways of revivalism

We’ve come past our time

To only develop our prime

We’ve obviously reached the top

But now it’s time to **** it up

Let’s see who survives this collapse

After such a long elapse

Let’s see who’s last to bleed

Let’s see how many we have tallied

We’ve finally been able to share our genocide in a scream

After all, isn’t this the American dream?

Quality work!

I see why not too many people have commented on this piece. It's pretty hard to decipher (as is most of your work Egoist). I sometimes feel your work is "too deep" and deep water scares most. So one just dips a toe in... and maybe both feet after a while...

I need to know if the words you chose are the exact ones you wanted, and that you know what each word's definition implies, so that you know how exactly each phrase is affecting the meaning of your poem...

Oi! I'm just way too dumb to get this is all ^^

Here's what I've got:

There are two groups, those that are persistent and those who are resistant. But those two words can mean different things

persist: to insist, and instigate, just keep at it until you get what you want

resist: can mean to stand firm (in what you believe in for example) or to actually initiate some kind of action against... so you see I dunno!

OR this is simply making reference to the U.S.A.'s arrogant trust in itself as practically leader of the globe.

Pez, your metaphors ("So one just dips a toe in"), are so wise.

Well it's actually a huge compliment to me for you to call my poems deep. And yes, I do my research on my word meanings. It takes me a while to write my poems just to make sure I get them right.

As for which one of your guesses am I talking about? It'd be the one on America, as you caught on the hint gives it away at the end. I'm not too big a fan when it comes to this country, so you might actually see a tiny bit of references like these in my stories as well. Thank you again.
