What is a soul?

Be it living or dead?

Does it fill a gaping hole,

Or is it only in your head?

Do you feel it in the day,

Or only when you dream?

Temporary some might say,

But ageless it would seem.

Is it felt by loving hands,

Or a child's swet embrace?

Follow the ruthless strand,

And catch up with the race.

The soul is neither living,

Nor is it either dead.

It isnt even breathing,

Or only in your head.

The soul is always ageless,

For eternity it stays.

Its birds without their cages,

Its where all eternity plays.

Follow my creed with knowing respect,

Wander my mind to recieve your gift,

Never believe or truly expect,

That the ageless soul lies with the rest.

Oh yes, what is a soul?

Yes, what is a soul?

Is it something concrete,

Like a piece of meat

Fresh when it's young and bold

Or stale and rottent when it's old?

Yes, what is a soul?

Is it measured with Time,

Or endless in verse and rhyme,

Like a poem to the world you give,

To whomever shall live?

Great...Now I'm going to spend the rest of the day thinking of the answers to these questions. What a great poem. All of the verses had a powerful meaning which made me think completely out of the box. I think my favorite quote would be "Temporary some might say." Really enjoyed it.
