Building Steam with a Grain of God

Stumbling through suburbs lathered in the warm...

Unwanted Praise

I listen to the people circled around me...

I drank the Draught,

and saw the world.

I had to laugh,

at what unfurled.

As though a mask,

had been removed

I saw the art,

in every room.

I equalled fear,

with doomful glee

and as I passed,

things moved for me.

I felt my heart,

beat fast yet slow.

I questioned things,

I should not know.

And so I sat,

and saw and felt

while world and mind

began to melt.

It did not last,

despite my fears

this acid Draught.

I liked it A LOT.

Viewing the world (or reality) in some unconventional way can be trippy... it's enlightening sometimes. I usually feel a huge load lift off my shoulders. I also feel like I'm chewing on air... But sometimes it makes me go insane, mad, maniacal! Though I have those episodes without the help of alcohol... tish tish Dirk, dost thou drink and sniff too much? I hope not... because your characters usually do.

Lol well I'm far removed from the definition of 'too much', more like 'have tried some things'.

Love it!

This was a very cool read. Yer combination of introversion and extroversion as part of yer creative process is akin to perception seeking or striving even to get caught up into something greater. I absolutely love this verse, and that's because any Poetry that can incorporate the integration of new knowledge or information with what is already known and present it to the reader in such a way that they cannot help but feel this art found in moments as a constant as a novel musing or a newly paved conceptual path demands to be loved.

Aye, jolly grite Poetry I say.
