Silence is golden.

Blood was too.

Nelson watched The Trade. Who would go where?

His parents to block A.

Siblings to block E, the last block.

He sat on the fringe and watched. His eyes followed the movements of the transporters, the cursed beings they were; always changing appearance. He watched the proceedings, it was a ritual as long as anyone could remember. Some of the New Generation opposed it once; Nelson wondered what happened to them.

Nelson watched his TV. He saw the shows playing before his eyes, a documentary, a war movie, a football game, the news and some reality show. He flicked to the documentary: something about Zyklon B and the Nazis. Nelson changed to the reality show. The lack of reality was uninspiring. Well, at least the mansion was cool.

Idly he switched it off.

Nelson watched as his parents went into block A. Soon there silent and bloody corpses fell out.

Nelson watched as his siblings go into block E. They never came out. Silence was golden.

Then all was quiet.
