04-10-2008 10:19,
you hear about it all the time - ever wonder what it's like? this was just a snapshot - maybe 5 seconds of tarhead's brain...
most say it's a curse, i say it's a gift - it's where my stories and my music come from. you have choices - give in to it and drug yourself, or control it. drug yourself and you end up stunted and stupid. control it, and there's no limit. a person with adhd can juggle hundreds of thoughts to the average person's dozen...
if your child has attention deficit disorder, embrace it, hone it, use it as a wonderful tool - don't drug them - take them outside and wear them out!
grab your child and stick a notepad and pen in his/her pocket, so he/she has some source or artificial memory to maintain the human schedule (as he/she is not human) - i use a smart phone to keep me on track and to have a place to instantly plant my wandering thoughts. and i have a lot of them.
discipline is the key to survival - not drugs...
