You always come up with the strangest outcomes; it's good to keep your readers guessing, but the outcomes, I think, should have some relevance to the rest of the story... it is your story and you get to add and subtract whatever you'd like to and from it... but maybe think about why you're adding a certain idea, character, or situation.
