The main reason why I post some of my stories on this site is so that I can improve my writing through the readers’ much appreciated comments and criticism.   Some people decide to blow their brains out over nothing. I don’t think Jack was one of those people; I think he had a strong reason. Or, at least, he felt like he did. What I’m trying to say is that suicides happen everyday and although to most people (including myself) the motivation behind some of them sounds crazy, to some it isn’t. This reminds me of a story I once heard where a tsarist general shot himself, out of overpowering embarrassment, after he had farted in the dancing hall during a dance. Crazy- but suicide happens.   My biggest concern was whether readers would ‘buy’ the sudden change of heart of the protagonist. I felt that maybe there should have been more ‘signs’.
