We used to get major mold in our bathroom at our old house, it was disgusting. I think something so gross makes a good choice for a horror monster. I used to love old horror movies, the tone and atmosphere of this story reminds me of a movie called 'the gate' a classic 80's horror about some kids alone in the house battling demons.
