Point taken about the length. Usually try to keep them to around 1,500 but this one boldly went where not one had gone before.....................
Originally there was no intention to take it any further, but the more I though about the teazer at the end the greater the potential appeared to be for a deeper look inside the man. Hence parts 2 & 3.
The trilogy will remain a complete story and no attempt will be made to 'string it out'. The character of Dennis Marks lives on in others tales, and a more comprehensive story entitled 'Bodies of Evidence' was finished some time ago. It runs to 12,000+ words and subdivides into chapters, so I might put that one in under separate entries.
Incidentally, my whimsical humour allows him a DS partner called Francis Peter Spencer. A double edged mickey take...............Frank Spencer..............Marks & Spencer..........but as I said, that's just me being totally sad..............
