Just wondering is there a time with a story when you should admit defeat.Im writing a story at the mo, but its just not sitting well me.Any thoughts?

yea,,,I had started a story bout a boy who became an astronaut. All because at age 6 his balloon went sailing towards the sky....you can see it wasn't going anywhere,,after 2 paragraphs I junked it...for me,,,I just know when it aint happening.

every once in a while i dig into it to see what's there. sometimes to entertain myself by reading what i thought was a good idea at the time, and sometimes i can rip a story out of one...

Yeah exactly, anyone can suffer from the "my writing is crap" syndrome. Don't delete it, just put it aside for a while, do something else, watch a movie, listen to music then come back, maybe after you'll get this crazy new idea and you'll write a masterpiece!

That's what happens to me sometimes, I started writing Her Green Eyes Past Midnight in french, like before Xmas 2007, wasn't happy with it (damn french for its complexity, it cutted the pace and I hated it), so I decided to translate it (third person mixed with first person narration, doesn't work as well as I thought it would) then I finally told myself **** this ****, the story's in my mind, I'm just gonna rewrite it from the ground up in english. And that's what I did, and I think Thirteen, that you just loved the third and final version!

I know when I was choreographing and I stumbled...I had to just move on to other things for a while and let it just be. Then I found that it would normally come to me. Forcing it only made a really bad dance routine! So, don't force it, let it be....it'll come to you....
