I saw parts of 28 Days Later and just the first 30 minutes of it was awesome. I really want to see 28 Weeks Later. Aliens was more of an action flick and really awesome. I have not seen the Blob or the 80's remake, but I'm interested.
Let me broaden my criteria: I really love body horror. David Cronenberg has directed a lot of them. Films like Alien, The Thing, and Slither are good examples. So if it is grotesque than I will probably look into it.
Usually a film with blood and gore does not scare me at all, but I find them to be fun to watch anyway.

Oh man i totally forgot about THE THING! That movie was amazing! My grandpa told me about the movie he saw called "The Thing from Another World." He was telling me about it and the stuff he told just scared me. So i tried to find it, but all i could was John Carpenter's The Thing. So I bought the dvd and just fell in love.
Yeah...gore and violent horror films are not scary in anyway...but holy crap they are fun and exciting to watch.
But Alfred Hitchcock was the man. I love all his projects. His thoughts and ideas were very creepy and very very original. He was amazing I think.

Hey they are making a movie based off the book called "The Ruins" and I'm not sure what it's really about...but in the preview there was something inside a girl crawling around in her skin...so there's a body horror movie you may want to check out

Supposedly it's a carnivorous vine that eats them from the inside out. Looks very interesting.
And the thing from another world does not do justice to the original story, entitled, Who Goes There?
What about Psycho? Not necessarily scary like a monster, but I remember seeing Norman running at someone with a knife while he was in a dress and I thought, "Damn, I hope to God I never have to encounter someone like this..."
