So how about that Music thing? It's wicked cool.
Although I'm kind of in a lull as far as discovering new things goes at the moment, my 200+ CD collection is a testiment to my love of music (yes, I still buy music. Amazing). I only own a grand total of ONE vinyl record, though. Go figure.

Site to check out:
last.fm

You download a compact little program and attach it to your Media Player of choice, and it keeps track of everything you listen to. Then, based on what you listen to, it refers you to other similar artists and other users that listen to the same music.

Mine's Over here somewhere.

I mostly listen to Modest Mouse, Stars, Arcade Fire; that sort of thing. Indie rock. Quite a bit of Post-Rock too. Stuff like Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Sigur Ros. I'm not picky as long as the music has some semblance of artistic integrity. I've got some electronica, hip hop, punk, classic rock. Even a bit of Metal here and there. And hey Justin Timberlake is pretty awesome. Not even joking.

Yeah I like Modest Mouse, and Silver Sun Pick-ups and all that Indie stuff courtesy of my fiance. I'm a "whiney chick music" girl myself (check out my Tori Amos thread)... I also listen to a lot of... techno. Also courtesy of mon amour... I'm pretty musicy.

Pretty much anything done between the 60's up until the late 80's is what I like. Classic rock, essentially. I am not really into any of today's "popular" music.

I like listening to people who are musically gifted/creative... not those solo artists now who can't write a sentence let alone a song

Anyone heard of mindless self indulgence? I've only just discovered their sound, but its very different and funky. I always try not to say that I like specific genres, just bands. Hip-hop rock techno western, you name it I probably like some of it!
