Now that films are coming out left right and center about the classic books, I find that it's easier to spend a couple of hours watching instead of days reading.

I know it's true that too much detail is left out of the film versions like The Amytiville and LOTR but still saves days of reading.

Hopefully one day someone will make more films of Terry Pratchett's books. Universal Studios did a good job with over 40 film releases of the classic horrors.

some books just shouldnt be films tho because they deal mostly with the thought process... like many of the horror novels that deal with an insane person's thoughts rather than actions

I remember a cartoon based on Pratchetts work, Discworld. It followed Death as he tried to quit his job or something... I remember liking it. I haven't actually read Pratchett though I've always meant to.

I have many favourites and I don't think I can list them all, so I'll only give a few. I love Little Women by Lousia May Alcott, all the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Connan Doyle, all books by Chrisopher Pike and The Series of Unfortunate Events. Jane Eyre and The Count of Monte Cristo were excellent too. God, of course, Tolkein can't be fogotten. Oh, and Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and the books in the Sword of Truth series. Ha. So much for a short list.
Oh well.
