Yeah, I find its hard to write a novel length project, because my mind is often taken to other ideas and then I write those because that's the mood I'm in at the time and then I come back to the long one and I find trouble picking it back up. I've kind of defeated that dilemma for myself, though, because now if I'm writing something long I purposefully treat each chapter as a short story and thus it makes it easier to come back to it and jump right into it. I did that with "Rose's Thorn" and its' the longest story I've ever written... its got 13 chapters. I wrote it off and on for 2 years, as I recall. Just whenever I was in the mood for it I wrote a chapter or two and eventually I was done. I didn't even have an outline for it and I never knew for certain (at least in the beginning) what I was going to write with each new chapter. Any rate... this is not a stupid offensive joke, but oh well. I like the discussion anyway.
