I suppose that means I was UNCENSORED and UNRATED! It was my extended director's cut, now with twice the action and three times the stupidity. Lovely.

oi what you said about writing i couldnt agree more, i could see where alfred was coming from but he was being an ******* about it. i too get so excited about my stories to publish them that i forget to write it over

i am working on a novel actually, but only 14 pages into it which saddens me because i know i could be so much more further along just when i sit down at the keyboard with so many fresh ideas i my head i all of a sudden go blank
i hate it because i know this could be a really good story but for some reason i cant get any progress into it

Yeah, I find its hard to write a novel length project, because my mind is often taken to other ideas and then I write those because that's the mood I'm in at the time and then I come back to the long one and I find trouble picking it back up. I've kind of defeated that dilemma for myself, though, because now if I'm writing something long I purposefully treat each chapter as a short story and thus it makes it easier to come back to it and jump right into it. I did that with "Rose's Thorn" and its' the longest story I've ever written... its got 13 chapters. I wrote it off and on for 2 years, as I recall. Just whenever I was in the mood for it I wrote a chapter or two and eventually I was done. I didn't even have an outline for it and I never knew for certain (at least in the beginning) what I was going to write with each new chapter. Any rate... this is not a stupid offensive joke, but oh well. I like the discussion anyway.

onyxdragon i feel the same way, i keep coming up with new ideas for different stories than ill start working on the new idea and then another idea will pop up and now i have like twenty two unfinished stories and one unfinished novel saved onto my pc. the longest thing i ever wrote was 84 pages and im not done with that yet (gotta write final draft but never in mood).
i never use an outline, i think it makes writing a story very boring. i love not going to happen. i usually go for a walk or something and plan each chapter of this novel out like a scene for a movie, and then when the whole scene is over i go and write. but problem is i know what i want to happen i just need something to happen before it but cant figure it out

well, i hope this isnt a stupid offensive joke lol

*insert stupid, offensive joke here*

So, yeah, I usually don't use an outline until I've already written most of it. It's usually just something I resort to force me to end it. And when I say outline, usually its me thinking out what each chapter will deal with to the end and then writing a short summary for each chapter and then following it so I can finish what I started. I also usually make a lot up as I go. But not always. Usually, I know the basic plot and the end in the beginning. Then I have to find a way to start it and make up the middle as I go towards the end that I've known since the beginning.

The longest thing I've written and completed was a full-length script at 56 pages. I've been filming it for the past two years, unfortunately. I was hoping to finish filming it this summer, but now things seem a bit bleak because my wife just went on bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy and that's kind of a big deal. We got a boy due for the end of August. Exciting stuff.

I'm attempting to attach a screen shot from my full-length movie I'm filming.
