If i'm not mistaken, I thought that they were planning to run away together in the movie (we watched it in English also but with Baz Luhrmann's version). It was just that the plan didn't go correctly, and it ended as a tragedy.
Supposedly Juliet poisoned herself to feign her death to be with Romeo, but Romeo didn't know she was faking it because he didn't see the letter or message sent by Juliet.
That was the story version I watched.

Well I've thought if of this too. But one, neither Romeo or Juliet have any money realy except what their families have. Two if they did they'd be easy prey since never of them ever really worked, being the children of the two richest families in Verona. And finally, well if they did then it wouldn't a be a tragedy haha.
Personally I think maybe Macbeth or Hamlet will be better. I want to read Macbeth, Scottish castles and blood are more my thing =3
