a funny thing happened on the way to the forum... no wait, a funny thing happened that brought me to the forum.

my pc had a heart attack and i have been away.

now i am away not.

i saw the credit thing floating somewhere on the site when i first popped back in and i gave it a brief look see - and didn't give it much thought. i'm not seeking credits, i thought to myself...

i got inspired and shot together a quick story and hit the submit button...

not enough credits...

hmm...

now, where was that credit thingee? oh, yeah, found it - read it.

in order to accumulate credits i must comment.

that's fine, i do that.

no, wait, i must comment in the area of 150 characters. huh?

now there's a fine piece of irony...

i'm a writer. not a writer!

i've got over ONE THOUSAND comments tagged on this site, written out of pure lust for reading. and i don't have a thing to show for it.

but that's not what i came here to talk about. i came here to talk about the fact that i am not a critic. i came to this site to read and be read, and i still come to this site to read. if you do a quick scan of my comments,you will note that i don't average 150 words - but i have read a minimum of ONE THOUSAND SIXTY FOUR stories. a minimum.

i read, and if i enjoy, i give the writer that little kick we're all looking for - i acknowledge their talent.

if i have to sit and contrive a long winded (for me) comment stating why i didn't just click away from somebody's story so that i can acquire credits, i feel like i'm just working for credits so i can publish my own stories.

long winded comments are not my typical stlye and i don't feel honest stretching my comments so i acquire credits for my opinion...

quite the paradox...

for instance:

the dog ran like mad.

that sentence had 21

i went word nuts...

my head said characters

my fingers typed word.

even so...

150 characters, well above my average.

yeah we had some other posts on here about this when it first started not that long ago (you might want to check out the 'short stories' board). I think Admin is pretty solid on this though.. doesn't seem like he's going to change it anytime soon.

basically a comment of two lines. and if you double space each line it shouldnt be a problem

or if you double space between each word and add a smiley face at the end of each of your comments =]

and leave a **** load of these ....................................
