I know there are a couple adaptations of it. Is the 1984 version any good? I have an interest in seeing.

Hmmm I only heard of a version, made in 1984 with John Hurt playing Winston Smith... Apparently it's a good rendition and it is "mainly" faithful to the book. I also heard of a possible remake... But hey Holywood are going to do anything for cash, they take us for fools and the worse is that people bite and go see crappy movies and make them even more filty rich...

I've seen it. Not my cuppa tea... I've not read the book though, so can't say how close it is, but I guess it was a pretty well done movie, I just didn't like it.
