Title article: The Three Women
Date: 2008-05-23 16:56:51

I prefer a story where a theme shines through the plot. I liked the idea of using three women experiencing a similar event, but I feel you really missed the mark by throwing in a seemingly random occurance and thereby ending the story. One of the great things about writing is that we are in charge of the destiny of our characters and in turn have a responsibility towards shaping an interesting, plausable, and creative story. I feel a story should not just shock someone, but instead force them to analyze what you have written and from that produce an emotive response. Randomness is a dangerous ingredent in unskilled hands.

If I'm not incorrect...
Chocolate is fatal to dogs and the narrarator is actually poisoning the dog. Knowing this brings the story together immensly. In actuality, this is his entire purpose for closing his book and going for the drive.

I like dogs. Oh well...

Great work Nunyo! This story was very well written.

I like where this is going, but it isn't finished, is it? I would like to read more and see what is happening between the characters...

Nice work as usual. I'm not looking forward to going to sleep tonight, haha...

Title article: A White Elephant Revisited
Date: 2008-02-22 20:15:04

I dont see much plot development here...there is an allusion to the woman's sickness or problem that is never really full explored. I am also confused by your use of the term 'white elephant". Where does it fit in? Your descriptiveness is very good, as is the setting of the story. Nicely written but needs more clarity.

Overall, a good read. I think the passion of your characters was very well defined. I also thought the portrayal of the traditions of the muslim faith and how it contrasted with Saleem's own beliefs and desires was done nicely as well. I think that you could have made the transitions between the time periods and events a little smoother, though I was still able to understand the chronology. This story almost begs for more depth, perhaps a longer version (novel/novella) may be in the works?

Really nice work
I really liked this piece. The storyteller's experiences with sickness and death contrast rather significantly with the celebration of the New Year outside the hospital and help to portray the wide spectrum of events a life may know. I also like your writing style. Good work.
