Nice story Rick, I liked the Driver character, seemed very real. The names of the senators, is there a meaning behind them or are they random? Like Helios is Greek for sun right? And drako ?

Very nice story. I especially liked the last paragraph, the seasons and the life cycle. And,'And yet moss always grows in the well, all year and ever'- like something unnatural and perverted, not belonging to the natural way of things.
