probably, for me, the best part of this piece is the 'silly straw' technique of the writing. 
 
not straight forward, and definitely not so twisted that one cannot drink from it. 
 
and it had a good old fashion message at the bottom of the glass.

i really liked the commentary, but got really bashed by the choice of animal. i can't bring myself around to the thought that a full blown vegetarian would even consider meat as a food item. 
 
kinda like putting tofu in front of me... 
 
everything else about the story was pretty intense.

this reminds me of both of my daughters (one still growing up) and the friendships they bounced around in... 
 
girls tend to invest more in a relationship emotionally, and somehow always manage to blow through about a hundred thousand "best friends" before finding somebody they can trust. 
 
boys tend to be so much different - pick one, and stick with one, come hell or high water.

and they did, although their occupations are a completely different thing all together...

i dunno. 
 
one of the reasons that i left the reading of science fiction behind is because many new authors, in such a rush to get a story out, would forget physics - and basic principals... 
 
in a fantasy story, where a dragon can fly - no such rules apply. so i can look past things a little easier, well, a lot easier. 
 
so. 
 
i liked the characters and i liked the perspective of the story. i also really appreciated your story telling ability and technical skills. but a part of me was wishing that anton and sheryl were someplace else doing something else. 
 
but i did enjoy it, no doubt about that. i knew where it was going - but read it front to back anyway, because your story telling skills, and i will be looking forward to chapter 2.

actually, i was a little confused after six straight chapters of maddox infusion - i was in the 'who the heck is kristie?' mode for a short while. it's an old person thing... 
 
pick up well enough on the story after i got over the shock. 
 
and sorry, don't trust anybody driving a ford fiesta of any year/color... kristie carrying a gun?

i liked the overall piece, but got a little lost in the last stanza. 
 
in the words of the mighty spreadsheet god, it reads a little like a circular reference. 
 
the first two lines assign godlike qualities, then the rest of the stanza declare the opposite. 
 
justa thought from my feeble mind...
