About Myself: Well, I'm not a big fan of writing about myself. Nonetheless, here goes... I work full-time at the University of Missouri-Rolla as a Video Production Specialist in relation to Distance Education. When I'm not doing that I'm working with our independent production company (Onyx Dragon Productions, LLC). We've filmed many short films, worked on a few TV shows, filmed one full-length film (which is still in post production) and working on my first full-length, filmed a few weddings, commercials, worked with SIDEKICK Sketch Comedy of The Skinny Improv of Springfield, Missouri and many, many other projects.

When I'm not doing those types of things, I'm usually working with church matters and when I'm not doing that I'm usually relaxing... or writing.

Writing is one of my fondest passions. Though I think I have developed better into a script writer (rather than a short story or novel writer), short stories is where I started and I still enjoy them so.

Keep up the good works, peeps.

UPDATES-- (8-12-08)
1. Just uploaded chapter 2 of "The Rolling Stone & Wicked Annabelle." Still have the itch, probably going to finish chapter 3 soon. Chapter 3 will introduce Teen Wolf... stay tuned. (that sounds soo absurd)

2. I am currently working on Chapter 2 of "The Fall of Babylon." Almost got it wrapped up, the chapter not the story.

3. Working on a prequel of "Exit to Nowhere" entitled "Entrance to Somewhere."

4. Obsessing over "Obsession."

Re: Dirkin
Regarding the passage, I wrote it that way because I didn't want to reveal her intentions through the subject. I realize it is kind of like "huh"? I may have to reconsider it though, it seems most people didn't seem to understand or appreciate the passage the way it was.

I believe her actions were based upon adrenaline, instinct and the theory Rob discussed with her. That since she was presented with an opportunity to "be done with him" and probably get away with it, she was going to take it. This would be the basic human instinct that Rob eluded to. This was kind of the idea of the story... I'm not saying it's my best.

One of these days I'll actually write the true story, in its complete form. It's actually better than this version, based loosely on the real event. Once I find time, I'll have to go through an interview with the person and put it together. Any rate...

It is interesting to me how this story seems to hit and miss so easily.

Trivia
1. Had a list of possible character names, one was Lucy in the Skye. Figured, naturally, that I would use it for a female character. When I began to write this chapter, I realized I didn't have a name for the neighbor and looked to my list--the only name remaining was Lucy in the Skye. I liked it, and used it.

2. The Rolling Stone is the first character I've ever written that smokes cigarettes. I found this tidbit odd. Never realized I had not included smokers in my stories until I decided he was going to get some cigarettes from Lucy... found myself thinking, "Hey, wait... this is a first." It took over 10 years of writing for me to write in a cigarette. Strange.

Excellent execution
Jason has written an excellent story here. It is a formidable addition to the project, I must say. I've never read anything so exquisite on this site.

Best story ever... I mean, this is like the "Citizen Kane" of short stories.

Hmph... slacker. :)

And what's this nonsense of cats? Sounds puuuurty weird. LAME. Had to get my lame pun in, too.

Guilty?
Well, I haven't finished reading the rest of the chapters... I think I stopped at 5 or 6 before the weekend hit. I hope I'm not guilty... yikes!

Yeah, I took some liberties that I weren't sure would play out, like talking about someone noticing me not drinking the wine and obviously telling Davidson. I was afraid it might cause conflicts, but I took the chance. I figured Max and Huff would scold me if I messed up the masterpiece. :)

Scandalous
This was a dirty chapter. Tisk, tisk. Good writing, though.

We are off to a great start to this story, me thinks.

Oh, my...
You wrote in script form? Lucky, I think I'm better writing in script form. I liked. Good job. Had to drag Stephen King into, too, I see. Oh, my... ironic.

Trivia
1. The homeless man incident actually happened to me the other day. There was something very surreal about it. I did think he was flipping me off at first, but he wasn't. It was quite creepy. Though, I didn't call him a "dumb hobo", that's just mean. He obviously wasn't all there.

2. The older brother incident is a reference to Alfred Hitchcock's "Spellbound."

3. I washed dishes as a delivery driver at Pizza Hut for 2 years, and it pretty much makes you feel this way sometimes. To get the number 3,018 I multiplied 365 days by 10 years, then subtracted 100 days and then 532 days. So, Link has been washing dishes anywhere between 8 to 10 years.

Map
No map, yet. I would say it's more of an essay, than story at this point. The idea is that the character is expressing himself and in the end, perhaps a story will have been told. I kind of make it up as I go and am constantly looking for ways to confuse the method. More than anything it started as an homage or tip of the hat to Chuck Palahniuk (author of "Fight Club").

Perhaps we could call it Link's Madlibs. Eventually, there will be some "revelation" to it all, but I'm not sure yet what that is. I'm trying not to think too much about it, so it remains fresh and distorted.

Again, really liked your poem. It was very true in a lot of ways, the feeling I thought was described very well.

I really liked the flow of the poem as well, it slipped through my lips as oxygen... effortlessly. Thanks for the poem, well done.

Nice
Well, well written and very touching and reminiscent. Not that I've lost a lot of friends in my day or have had the pleasure of knowing when I was going to lose one up front. It's a hard thing to say goodbye, whether upfront or after the fact.

I really, really appreciated the sentiments of this poem. Excellent.

Oh wow! that is soo awesome congrats to you and your wife!

Yeah, I wrote those stories a long while ago. I'm going to clean them up and maybe post them again. Since I'm learning new skills all the time, my old writing seems terrible to me when I look back on it. I guess thats just the way it works, though
