About Myself: Well, I'm not a big fan of writing about myself. Nonetheless, here goes... I work full-time at the University of Missouri-Rolla as a Video Production Specialist in relation to Distance Education. When I'm not doing that I'm working with our independent production company (Onyx Dragon Productions, LLC). We've filmed many short films, worked on a few TV shows, filmed one full-length film (which is still in post production) and working on my first full-length, filmed a few weddings, commercials, worked with SIDEKICK Sketch Comedy of The Skinny Improv of Springfield, Missouri and many, many other projects.

When I'm not doing those types of things, I'm usually working with church matters and when I'm not doing that I'm usually relaxing... or writing.

Writing is one of my fondest passions. Though I think I have developed better into a script writer (rather than a short story or novel writer), short stories is where I started and I still enjoy them so.

Keep up the good works, peeps.

Splendid
It was a splendid read. I liked the flow. There may have been changes in the flow of the poem due to styles (as others have noted), but it didn't bother me no none (double negative heaven). Bet it was a blast working on, maybe put another together, aces.

Here's me tipping my hat, bravo.

Nice
Enjoyed the poem, Dirk. And the sentiments.

Denny's
Like Zombie Punk, I clicked on it for Denny's. The Denny's in my town is kind of gross. My wife and I usually try to avoid it as much as possible. Though, its like the only restaurant that is open all night or at least really late. Lame.

Like the story, too. And good waiting on the reveal of the names.

Sorry the picture is kind of hard to see. I uploaded it to my profile, you can get a nicer look at it from there.

Trivia
1. The part in the diner is based on a true story that I will be helping to work into a script at some point.

2. The directions Rob gives Lilly on how to get to Drumright are accurate. I had driven through Drumright using these directions the weekend before I wrote this. I was on my way to Gutherie for my eldest brother's wedding. I very much liked the "look" of Drumright and the surrounding Oklahoma scenery. Thus the location for the story.

Good...
Me likes. Good times. I use to chat back in the days... like 10 years ago, ouch... I'm getting old. Anyway, it reminded me of the mentality of teens chatting (including myself sometimes). Though, I don't think death threats were ever used in any of the chats I was in. I went into a "Titanic" chat room one time just to bash it with a friend. We got kicked out pretty fast. We weren't the biggest fans, obviously. Oh, my... those immature days--where have they gone?

I wrote and published all in one sitting without editing... thus the typos. Sorry. I'll fix them later.

Response
Hey, FutureWriter, thanks for the comments. You really made me think. I went back and reread what I had written and I still stand pretty firm by what I wrote. The ending is a reflection of Rob's Theory. Consider that before she even knew it was Rob and that he was going to do anything harmful to her, she was ready to inflict harm on him (the thought of the pepper spray represents this). Also, the thought, "Don't be him" could also be considered a double-edged comment ("Don't be him in the car" or "Don't become him"). In essence, she was presented with a perfect scenario to "finish the job" and probably get away with it and her instinct was to take it--just as Rob theorized. Her reasons (though not discussed) could be because she figured him for a serial killer, because his theory is more than a theory it is a belief. A code by which he lives, to get asleep at night. In the end, Rob is laughing at her because she is living out his theory.
And I wrote/published at once... sorry

country song?
Eew... no, that was not what I was going for at all. I'm glad you could see that was not what I was going for. Not much of a country fan. Mostly hate it, with exceptions of classic stuff.

Title article: Money - Town without Pity
Date: 2008-05-19 10:45:35
Trivia
1. Based on a true story

2. Title, "Town without Pity", comes from a classic Gene Pitney song, "How can we keep love alive? How can anything survive when these little minds tear you in two? What a town without pity can do."
