About Myself: I am a published writer and cartoonist. A book of awarded short stories "No Return" was published in former Yugoslavia , followed by a novel "Made in Jabana", published in Macedonia. I have won numerous awards for short story writing and my work has been represented in several anthologies and short story collections, the latest published in 2007 and 2008. A number of my cartoons were published in Australia in "The Bulletin" weekly magazine.

LOL
Thank you all for the comments. The bottom line is - as strange as it may seem, but I was having good time writing this poem. Yes, I agree with some of you and eventually will try to shape up the brainwash thoughts :)

Title article: Lariat - A Story of Regret

Oh-bummer ;)
This is not bad. Nice way of building the atmosphere, with those short sentences and clever dialogs. You know how to write, but try to work more on the ending of the story, it looks too open. There should be some closure. This way it looks like it is part of something bigger. Think of the short story like it is a sports car; so when people are reading short story they are coming to see that car, not the front view of a truck. I hope you understand what I mean. Anyway, I understand you (and your story) and that is way I am giving you a big 5. Maybe because it was not boring :)

Here goes my lunch time
1. After all you have accepted some of my points and updated your profile, now it appears that you are game to accept other than good comments as well. Well done, that’s the way to go.
2. I think that I said something about your story too and generally about most of the people writing and sending stuff at this place.
3. Sorry, but I cannot see that I was complaining about anything here.
4. Maybe you are not taking all this personally but you seem to be irritated / offended. At least that is the vibe coming from your response. I don’t know, maybe that’s your driving force. I should say: relax man; but no – I have to be careful here since you don’t even like the term: dear author.
Anyway, you just keep on writing. Eventually, one day your book will be published. Don't forget me and send me a copy, please :)

What da!!!
Uh-oh, now I see what is this all about. Dear author, I have just noticed this line in your profile: "And if you don't like what I write just save me the time and don't comment." LOL – are you serious? What can I say, sad and disappointing. Not a game enough for a little challenge? Well, this simply means that I just wasted my time here, even though I only wanted to be of some help to the author and most importantly to you – dear commentators. Cheers :)

OK, talking about weird, it could be just me. Maybe all of you are so good at writing and especially at making comments too. My only escape out of this little nightmare is the fact that I am a published writer (and a cartoonist too). So, I happen to know how painful the process of publishing is. Your comments, like the ones above can only lure this or any new coming author into false sense of security that he/she is good and because of that there would not be much of a progress. Writing and publishing is a throat-cutting business, so try to be helpful, not just sucking on some useless credits. Love you all.

To the author: So what? I can see that you can write, but the questions is do you know what exactly is a short story, especially a good one, and this question goes to some of the members of this s.s. community too. Do you think that if you write more than one page, some thoughts that are making sense, you would have a story? Well, yes, that is a story, but I am afraid that we are supposed to look for some art here – creative writing… rings the bell? Something that will be interesting to the reader too. Before coming to this place I had a pretty good idea what all this business of writing short stories was supposed to be. But now, after reading your s.stories (not just this one) and especially the comments (most of them sooo positive – are you all sucking on some sweet book-worm drugs?) I am beginning to think that something weird is going on here.

So, to finish what I started in my previous comment: Most of your stories and poems are full of crap and boring, so have no mercy and please start cleaning them up… and stop being sooo nice towards each other, by doing that you are not helping, you are just wasting your time and hibernating the potential authors in a dream world that has nothing to do with being a writer. I hope that you will understand my message and go back to your drawing boards. And, yes, nothing personal, just please open your eyes – read more books, especially good ones and think what you should do to write one too. Otherwise, spend your time doing some other things, stop congesting the writers’ highway, writing is not for everyone. Love you all :)))

Hi you old and young farts. Thanks for spending some time to read my story (and the poem) and make a comment or two. I can see that some of you are taking my comments on their work personally and are coming here for a payback time. I can understand that, but sorry folks, if something stinks then I will say it, it is in my nature and it is for your benefit. You will appreciate that one day, especially if you get published. I read most of your works and if you value my opinion (having experience in this business, after all I am a published author:) I can tell you that you have a long way to go. Of course, it is obvious that some or most of you are doing it (writing/scribbling) just for fun, to kill some time. But if you are really planning to be even considered for publishing then you have to be aware that you have to lift up your game.

Spin
Is there something like ‘behind the sun’? I would think that the answer would be: no. But after reading your poem there must be some yes, somewhere… perhaps, behind the sun. Anyway, it is a longish poem. Personally I prefer something shorter and sharper. But that is your stile and stick to it. It would be interesting to hear you recite this poem; from experience I know that hearing the voice will make a lot of difference and will bring the poetry to life. Well done, but you can do it even better. The potential is there.

Balance
Poor lady, good story. Good because I read it :) if something stinks then I will just hit backspace. Kenny is believable and the story is well written. To be honest, I was not surprised with the end. What kept my attention was that there were no boring and unnecessary parts, all of it was well balanced.
