About Myself: I discovered the catharsis of writing when I was 13 years old, and have been writing ever since. I have tried to turn it off in order to facilitate some sort of "real" life, but like gum on the sole of a shoe it follows me around...just stuck there and smelling like artificial fruit.

Thanks
Thanks for reading this short piece and for your comments. I attempt to write pieces and paint paintings that are evocative...telling you more about yourself than telling a story. It is the within and individual emotion in each of us I am targeting rather than entertaining my audience. I hunt for that self exploration and hope for growth and thought in my reader...I care more that you feel what I write rather than enjoy it. For me it is about image making one way or another and holding up a mirror to the truth, or at least the fact that what is - is. If you do not understand this piece...your innocence is refreshing...kudos.

Damn it
Well crafted. Can't say I enjoyed it at all. Misery, lostness, rejection, a lack of choices...I felt all of these things in this work, and as such it is successful on every level. You have a real knack for bringing out a certain hopelessness. Looking forward to reading the rest of your work, but will do it in small bites.

Artistry
I loved this piece. This is the kind of piece that makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. It is a short, but due to the way it is written and the sparsity of what is written it heralds in so much more. I know this woman. I know this life. I know the end of this life. Super job.

Poignant
Beautiful. It is that time where we wish all the clocks would stop ticking, life would go away and the otherworld could overtake all. Very well crafted piece...I enjoyed the father's reminder....real world calling.

objectification
The objectification of women, regardless of how hard the feminists fought against it in the past, has become an epidemic in which virtually every man is infected and many women as well...who try to live up to the standards of the disease. Thank you for high lighting this issue. Good job.

Don't know how or who rated this story a "one." If they did, they didn't leave a comment as to why they felt the story failed. That does not help me, as a writer, at all.

Thank you
Thank you for your interest and constructive criticism. I am sure I will be tweaking this story for awhile. The imagery in my mind of the setting of this story is vivid. I was trying and will continue to try to capture the hollowness of the time, events and heart of this little girl.

Good job, good tale, Happy Halloween.

In my opinion, for what that's worth, this is the best chapter in this story so far. It is completely transparent. I do not see the author anywhere in there. I have already read the next chapter and returned here to write this comment. Are you planning to tell me whose footsteps reverberated through the trailer and what the owner of those footsteps did to our poor protagonist? We see a shadow running from the trailer in the next chapter. I want to know what that shadow did in that trailer...the worms already had our protagonist, but then I always want to know everything.
