About Myself: Hi,
I am an ex Serviceman (Royal Engineers 1965 - 1989) living at home as a full time carer for my wife Helen. I have written my first book called Our Lad Ricky which is about my enlistment (successful on fifth attempt) and subsequent 19 weeks training as a sapper.

Our Mutual Wine
Combines two loves of my life, romance and wine - haha - Very nicely written - I liked it very much - like a fine 12 year old merlot! The ending is particularly apt - especially after sharing the wine! Very nice!

Is
I liked the first two verses! Real. But I would love to see 'Trust is....' more true to life because without 'Trust' there is nothing! And if I beleived trust is unreal, superficial, hurtful and heartbreaking ignorance, I have lived my life for nothing. A nice poem nontheless.

Home Invaders
Weird. The story got my attention early on, and, as r.e.potter said I was expecting the father to find some inner strength to protect his little girl. The ending, spoilt the story I think, little girls like this are not beleivable. Even when I read fantasy, I need to beleive in it.

Life is nothing but a Miracle
Hmmmmm, It was like reading the middle of the story! I would like to read a little of 'before' and 'after'. But I enjoyed it. I think there isn't a human being in this world who hasn't had a similar experience at some point. I remember thinking - ohh many years ago - "Oh well, today is the first day of the rest of my life!"

Bloodsong - Awakening
This Chaptr has awakened my curiouslity! I enjoy a good detective story - Tomorrow (its 10.30 pm) I must read Chapter 1.
But it looks at first read to be quite interesting and something I will enjoy reading!

THE ONE
I really enjoyed this poem - in fact I loved it. Enjoyable, easy reading and the wording was quite ingeneous. I could 'feel' the feelings that went into its writing. I would like to read more of the same.

Stop Pretending
I really like this poem. It has a such a ring of truth to it. As a father and a grandfather I worry about future generations. There seems to be so little manners and consideration around today, so much disrepect, and so much pain inflicted needlessly. This poem highlights this and:

If we each stand and fight
maybe we can make things right

Maybe we should all remember these words!

Tall Tales of Chris
At first I wasn't sure! But at the end I kind of liked it, worts and all. I think the story has some potential, perhaps with a little tweaking here and there. But I did like it!

Title article: To Bleed, Chapter 3

To Bleed
Disturbing. It made me wonder if the author has personal experience of this kind of problem that is so prevalent with young people today. Or is it? I had a good friend, while serving in the British Army in the early 1970's who suffered a similar affliction. He spent some time in a British Military Hospital in Munster after cutting his arms with a broken beer bottle. I often think about him because while he was in hospital I was posted elsewhere, I did not meet him again. I would like to read more.

On the Mend
I loved this poem. My wife suffers from bi-polar disorder and I am her full time carer. If my wife could write poetry this is the sort of poem she would write!

I could relate to this - very nice!
