About Myself: I was born in Eire in 1949, and have lived in Australia for almost thirty years. My hobbies include writing, songs and stories. I like to sing when I’ve had a Guinness or two. My reading preferences would be all poetic material that has a level of ambiguity to it. My pet hate is People who have changed the spelling of the English language and who criticize people who have not.
My ambitions are, to remember what it was like to be young, and to tolerate those that currently are young.
I have three sons and seven grandchildren and I am buoyed by the news that two thirds of the jobs my grandchildren will be doing have yet to be invented.
Although I have been married for 38 years I believe that conventional marriage is fast becoming a useless and mostly destructive institution.
I was raised a catholic but fortunately life has somehow managed to beat every last drop back out of me.
I believe that my smile is own sacred possession and can only be earned or stolen by others.
I hunger genuine criticism, I search for magic in every corner of the earth and I am proud that during my life I have rebelled against almost everything and anything and at almost every opportunity.

Title article: They Say
Date: 2008-07-04 21:29:31

I suprized that there are people on the forum that have never heard of the ancient mythical tribe of 'They'

This poem was based on a loving father ( the angel ) who sexualy moelsted his child, having done so he fell from grace.

It is also said by the learned 'They ' that angels who fall from grace will have their feet turn to clay and so be forever after mere mortal.

Title article: Friday Night
Date: 2008-07-04 21:09:28

'He's a poet he's a picker he's a prophet he's a pusher he's a pilgrim and a preacher he's a problem when he's stoned.'

Aye lad, its song fer sure and maybe a bad country one at that?

never heared a song yet that was worth a dam without poetry.

Title article: Just another point of view
Date: 2008-07-03 21:32:32

Thank you for the nice comment. I wrote this as a song but it went down like a lead balloon with the folkies. i will correct spelling.

Title article: Everything You Can Think

Good poem. Well written and honest.

Title article: Garryowen, Chapter 1

thank you for reading bubbly. It's my auto-bio with a stretch of the imagination.

Title article: The Spark

That brought back such fond memories.
very well written

Title article: Scattered Stars

That's it girl. You dunnit this time. I am going to give it all up and watch coronation street.
That last verse, I want someone to carve it on my headstone.

Brill.

'For we've become Poetically

A reminiscent beat

So we can dream another day

Where sorrow's obsolete'

Title article: Still thinking of you
Date: 2008-06-27 03:50:13

I felt that this poem worked very well up to the typo, but then felt it was slightly strained from then on.

Title article: One of Those Dates...
Date: 2008-06-24 05:19:14

I feel that dialogue is the toughest hurdle. The story was over crowded with the 'she said' stuff. Read the story to a freind and listen to the flow of conversation. There are a thousand different ways to make dialogue flow and the story would benefit greatly from tightening this particular area.

Title article: He's Got My Heart Pounding
Date: 2008-06-24 05:00:17

You got that love... thing bad. The verse flowed well maybe a bit more imagination will bring a greater climax.
