About Myself: Accountant, 55, aspiring writer. Married 2 children, 2 cats (not married to the cats but they think they rule the roost). See gallery for more pictures - George was starting to demand appearance money so I relegated him to the background.......teach him to be sassy!

Ok, so we're pals again.........Hey George, see the nice reader? Kill !!!!!!

Started writing in July 2007 and found that I couldn't stop. Manuscripts now comprise 3 finished novels (60,000; 85,000; 65,000 words respectively) one in progress (currently 20,000), 2 compilations of short stories (total 100,000 words), and some messing around with poetry, although I must confess that it's not my favourite.

That started as limericks on birthday and anniversary cards and now I can't get off the hook.

If anyone knows of a cure............I may be interested (although not JUST yet).

Sorry about the deletions, but they now form part of my first publishd work on www.lulu.com called "Selected Short Stories - Volume 1" please check it out.....

Chords
This one struck a few with me, and as Lisa will tell you if pushed, we had an Aunty Doris hewn from the same piece of granite.

Never one to complain she lived, although less heroically, through he same troubled times and adopted an attitude of being contented with her lot in life.

I suspect that the atmosphere at your mother's was very similar to that of Sedgwick Street - an oasis of peace in a frenetic world.

Very atmospheric picece this one Stephen.

Unsure
I don't really know what it is that you are trying to say.

You need to check punctuation in your postings. There are a lot of words colliding with each other in this, and if you are asking the reader a question it pays to place a question mark in the appropriate place.

I found it confusing, I'm sorry.

Pity
This brings back memories of a rescue mission I mounted to free a young mouse from the clutches of one of my feline friends.

What did the damned thing do? Why it bit me of course, resulting in a visit to the local hospital for an anti-tetanus jab! The next one meets its fate unaided by me.

Your dilemma is quite understandable my friend.

Good writing

Sausages
My God! You turned me inside out with that googly you threw down. Thought I'd glance it down past fine leg for four, but you turned it the other way, odf the edge and straight down first slip's throat.....and me on 99 too!

This one just pulled me along like some dog on a leash until the final.............THE FINAL word.

Bloody good!

Bowled a Wide
Hear ye, hear ye...

Thanks to Mr Bouley, Samuel North now no longer has a "wide" Susan (whatever one of those is). I am sure that his WIFE will be eternally grateful, as am I to Darrin.

Stark
You mixed cold hard reality into this mix of 'little girl and doll' and had me transfixed right to the end.

There isn't an end of course. This is just the beginning of all the problems, but their elaboration would have detracted from the short sharp message.

Starting the tale in the middle served only to highlight the message that was being written.

Stunning piece of flash.

Title article: "One Dark Night"
Date: 2008-08-31 10:18:42
Stress
Certainly was long, but how else could all of the stress in the action be portrayed?

If you look at something like "One Day in the Life if Ivan Denisovich", the action there takes place inside a Gulag within one 24 hour spell.

I think, Elroy, you extracted the maximum amount of tension out of the proceedings as you could, and the only suggestion I can come up with (and this is no criticism) would be to counterpoint this account with one from the police point of view.

You could end up with a small novel if you chose that option.

Good read overall.

Excercise
Help is on the way. as soon as I've shaken this damned cold off,we're hitting the streets.

First one back gets the chocolate - if that's not incentive enough then I'll hang up the running shoes.

Unkawatha
Got me wondering about this one buddy.

Very good setting out of the plot in preparation for some kind of saga.

Liked the descriptions of the daily cycle and the Indian(?) way of life.

Will be watching with keen interest.

Title article: MY DAUGHTER. (Healer of the world . 2008)
Date: 2008-08-31 09:32:17
Pshahhhhhhh!!
You just fell thirty notches from being one of the old farts.

You're now a sentimantal old fart.

Still, it's nice to drift off beyond the granite-faced exterior for a while ain't it mate?

Seriously though, the poem was a gem. You've clearly drawn it from personal experinece, and as Potter pointed out, I couldn't imagine losing touch with either of our children.

Unsure at this time what their take on that would be.

Five pips

I guess I'd better sign your guest book and say "Hi Dad".
You know what I think about your writing - I like most of them (except for the one about the spiders you horrid man!), and the ones I don't are just not my cup of tea rather than there being anything wrong with them. I like the ones I already know best, like the wine one, or the ones about George and Poppy and co, but that's because I already know the stories, but enjoy the way you tell them.
Anyway, keep going with it Dad - you need to start making some money though to pay for my lifestyle!!! Lisa

Wow.

You been reading all my stories and now I feel bad I've haven't read many of yours. That gonna change, though. Just read your 'Layers of Innocence' and that was brilliant. You are truely a talented writer, my friend. I think I might start on your 'Stick' series next.

Oh yeah, you can keep your cats. I'm allergic to them, they make me go blind.

Keep well,

Max
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): That's great because George says his passport is out of date anyway.

I must say, I like Lulu as well. I haven't published on it, yet, though. I'm trying to finish writing and polishing a collection of short stories. I really like the way Lulu works. It's very nice. I'll have to go check your collection on Lulu out. Write on.

Sit back and breath...popping stories out faster then the Spears sisters. I read fast, but not THAT fast.
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): In take 'em while they're there........no fresh ideas for a day or so, but got a stock af three or four to keep me going.

i read the disaster recovery story, and typically, after reading a story i bolt over to the writer's profile before i comment. just in case it's a young'un - i don't want to tip any tea kettles...

if i like the writer's style, i usually look to see if he/she has other stories - and i hope for one or two.

jeez - you have many...

now i have a ton of reading to do.

write on!
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): Errrrm..........there's fewer than there used to be.

Deleted 21 and published them in a book on Lulu.com so you won't see them here any more.

Had Potter grumbling at me for speed writing, but when the ideas are there, it's a shame to waste them.

Thought one up last week just as I was dropping off to sleep, and for the life of me I can't remember what it was now.

Must keep pen and pad by the bedside in future.

Damocles was one like that, but this time it stuck until morning.

Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): Kind of, yes. This was also a warning to Punk that if he wants my cat he gonna have ta come and get him.............

Daughter took this one....you have to be quick with George otherwise he's apt to inspect the camera for himself.

He's myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy cat and nooooooooobody can have him.....he's not even for rent.

Meooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Hi! I just realized I haven't signed your guestbook yet so here we go. you might want to update your profile so it's not saying that the picture of you is George the cat lol
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): Now look, you've only got my word for it that the picture really isn't me..............agter all, I am a story teller.

Will get it swapped pretty damn quick guv'nor...

Phil (Or george) - he's pretty cool though (Geoge, not me............although....)

Well first off I would like to say that your mystery stories are some of the best if not the best I have ever read.

Second,

Hi.
