About Myself: Accountant, 55, aspiring writer. Married 2 children, 2 cats (not married to the cats but they think they rule the roost). See gallery for more pictures - George was starting to demand appearance money so I relegated him to the background.......teach him to be sassy!

Ok, so we're pals again.........Hey George, see the nice reader? Kill !!!!!!

Started writing in July 2007 and found that I couldn't stop. Manuscripts now comprise 3 finished novels (60,000; 85,000; 65,000 words respectively) one in progress (currently 20,000), 2 compilations of short stories (total 100,000 words), and some messing around with poetry, although I must confess that it's not my favourite.

That started as limericks on birthday and anniversary cards and now I can't get off the hook.

If anyone knows of a cure............I may be interested (although not JUST yet).

First manuscript is now a finished and published novel "A Ticket to Tewkesbury" (see stories list for a preview and list of acknowledgements).

Engaging
I liked this. Will you be writing more? It could be a series, developing as the boy grows older and the threat become a reality instead of a figment of his imagination.

You'd then have something in the way of a saga, and who knows where that could end.

Good story (or start), and attention to detail in the text was excellent - reminded my of the Eiderdown Wars I used to fight using toy soldiers when I was a small boy (physically not mentally as now)

LNSA
Good, fast-moving script (could be a TV drama), highly charged amd atmospheric plot.

The scene shifting kept the entire thing on an edge, and your use of clipped conversations over the phone had me going all the way to the bottom.

Like it.

The Final Installment.
Look, you're all going to have to be patient.

I've already been caught out by the new scale of charges, and one story cost me 5 credits rather than the 3 I was expecting...........that however was down to me missing the point about the same 24 hour period.

Yeah, yeah - tight git.....what on earth do you expect from an accountant? Generosity???

Not falling down that pit again..........the final chapter (7) will be posted sometime tomorrow to get around the problem.

Next up.........."Stick".......a murderous tale of revenge and some other stuff which I'm keeping to myswelf for the moment, so go and get knotted (just kidding).

What??????????????????
Ok dude, here's where it is.......

If 'old' means ancient, that I am most certainly not. At 55, and a mere youngster (the kids ay I'm as old a my shoe size and that is a 9)I reserve the right to put any old fiction down on paper.

I'm not a flag-waver, and have no alliegence to our overpaid and cossteted royal family (no capitals you'll notice).

I do take a lot of time and trouble, after the initial enthusiastic writing burst, to read, re-read, and edit the stuff I've done prior to publishing it here.

Guess away my friend, I could also my a homicidal axe murder with a penchant for fiction.............you'll never know.

Flash
Good piece of flash fiction, but I felt it could have led to more. Will it lead to more? It deserves to.

If that's what youy're looking for.........go for it.

Title article: Strength To Say Goodbye
Date: 2008-07-05 13:42:14
Strength
Having read all the above comments, and not being much of a poetry critic, all I can say is the words touched me. Anything else would be superfluous.

Title article: To Her Whom Cancer Took
Date: 2008-07-05 11:47:26
Crude
The last comment was totally unnecessary and outrageously vulgar and foul.

If you cannot make proper use of the English language, do not use it at all.

Go someplace else and peddle your childish behaviour. You do not belong on here with the grown-ups.

Title article: Killing Me Softly
Date: 2008-07-05 11:26:32
Killing Me..............................
Well. I just feel like singing, and I'll continue with MY version of the words if you don't mind (everyone's a music critic).

I used to be in the school choir, and they spent a fortune on the organ before thay found out that the awful noise was me.

You don't want me singing, you really don't - my voice will strip the varnish from a door at fifty paces.

The comments you are all making fill me up. Unfortunately it's not with beer, so that's the downside.........

Title article: Mirror, Mirror, Chapter 6

Mirror
I thank you for your most kind comments, but all the grammatical mistakes do not get culled before publication (I'm a poor typist).

The endgame will be played out next week, and if I say so myself, it's an absolute doozey........I never saw it coming and I wrote it.

Aparently I missed your birthday, so happy belated birthday.

I just thought I would drop in and say hi since I hadn't talked to you in FOREVER. I have so much reading to catch up on.
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): Hey Lemon, not gone "sour" on me then?

Belated thanks

I guess I'd better sign your guest book and say "Hi Dad".
You know what I think about your writing - I like most of them (except for the one about the spiders you horrid man!), and the ones I don't are just not my cup of tea rather than there being anything wrong with them. I like the ones I already know best, like the wine one, or the ones about George and Poppy and co, but that's because I already know the stories, but enjoy the way you tell them.
Anyway, keep going with it Dad - you need to start making some money though to pay for my lifestyle!!! Lisa

Wow.

You been reading all my stories and now I feel bad I've haven't read many of yours. That gonna change, though. Just read your 'Layers of Innocence' and that was brilliant. You are truely a talented writer, my friend. I think I might start on your 'Stick' series next.

Oh yeah, you can keep your cats. I'm allergic to them, they make me go blind.

Keep well,

Max
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): That's great because George says his passport is out of date anyway.

I must say, I like Lulu as well. I haven't published on it, yet, though. I'm trying to finish writing and polishing a collection of short stories. I really like the way Lulu works. It's very nice. I'll have to go check your collection on Lulu out. Write on.

Sit back and breath...popping stories out faster then the Spears sisters. I read fast, but not THAT fast.
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): In take 'em while they're there........no fresh ideas for a day or so, but got a stock af three or four to keep me going.

i read the disaster recovery story, and typically, after reading a story i bolt over to the writer's profile before i comment. just in case it's a young'un - i don't want to tip any tea kettles...

if i like the writer's style, i usually look to see if he/she has other stories - and i hope for one or two.

jeez - you have many...

now i have a ton of reading to do.

write on!
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): Errrrm..........there's fewer than there used to be.

Deleted 21 and published them in a book on Lulu.com so you won't see them here any more.

Had Potter grumbling at me for speed writing, but when the ideas are there, it's a shame to waste them.

Thought one up last week just as I was dropping off to sleep, and for the life of me I can't remember what it was now.

Must keep pen and pad by the bedside in future.

Damocles was one like that, but this time it stuck until morning.
