About Myself: Accountant, 55, aspiring writer. Married 2 children, 2 cats (not married to the cats but they think they rule the roost). See gallery for more pictures - George was starting to demand appearance money so I relegated him to the background.......teach him to be sassy!

Ok, so we're pals again.........Hey George, see the nice reader? Kill !!!!!!

Started writing in July 2007 and found that I couldn't stop. Manuscripts now comprise 3 finished novels (60,000; 85,000; 65,000 words respectively) one in progress (currently 20,000), 2 compilations of short stories (total 100,000 words), and some messing around with poetry, although I must confess that it's not my favourite.

That started as limericks on birthday and anniversary cards and now I can't get off the hook.

If anyone knows of a cure............I may be interested (although not JUST yet).

Sorry about the deletions, but they now form part of my first publishd work on www.lulu.com called "Selected Short Stories - Volume 1" please check it out.....

Triffic
I say old bean, ripping good yarn, what? Touch of the old 'bang, bang' you're jolly well dead!

Oh, sod it. Can't do any more of that nonsense.

This just gets better and better Max. Nicely built up tension and almost too late with cavalry.

Moving swiftly on.....

Salute
Cannot possibly heap any more praise for th retelling of this nightmare.

I'd heard about it of course, but the full horror of the situation is only now clear to me.

Thanks Lemon
Phil

Title article: The Story of a Survivor, Chapter 2
Date: 2008-08-19 05:30:28
Hooray!
This was just as I thought the story was going to progress.

You did an amazing job in stringing out (that's not the proper terminology)the tension of days in the water.

Moving on to 3 now.

Hmmmmmmm
Interesting if somewhat puzzling account of the juxaposition of hell as earth, when we are taught to belive that purgatory lies beneath the surface.

Armageddon as a battle has either been fought or is never intended with Lucifer already in command of men.

Well drawn out plot, but had to read it twice before coming to any conclusions at all.

I'd never envisioned St Peter as a stand up comdeian before.

Gooder Than That
Outstanding descriptions - I was there!

Great attention to detail, and yes it was a long piece, but well worth the wait for an awesome ending.

It combined every big game film clip I've ever seen into one roller coaster ride.

Well done!

Potter !!!
You put yourself down.

I read lots of substandard stuff on this site, and don't bother to comment because I can't think of anything good to say.

THIS is my kind of poetry, and not just because it rhymes and has words that I can understand.

There's a message that actually makes sense and uses short words that I casn read without having to use a dictionary.

This is really good stuff. God help us all if this tank runs dry.

Read it through three times just to check for hidden messages. Even tried it backwards just to make sure that there wasn't something in there that said "Paul Is Dead".

Really impressive.

Title article: Postcard

Stark
Brutal tale told from the point of view, I assume, of one of society's dregs sleeping rough.

When you're at the bottom everything and everyone is 'up'.

Your portrayal of her apparent beauty in his eyes comes out in stark relief, as reality sees her as nothing more than a prostitute on drugs.

This was a gripping piece of flash fiction which was slightly spoiled by your lack of attention to spelling.

I am not one of the sites "grammar nazis" as they are amusingly called, but a quick spellcheck would have removed 95% of them.

Nevertheless it was an impressive piece of insight.

Title article: Degenerates; Cocaine., Chapter 1
Date: 2008-08-18 07:31:11
Sorry
I'm with Tarhead.

You cannot simply place a submission on the site and expect everyone who reads it to be your editor.

My story drafts are just that, and get checked through by at least one family member before they see the light of day, and STILL I find errors.

I'm not saying that my stuff is perfect - far from it, but I don't want others to be unpaid administrators for me.

Nevertheless, the story has potential and I would persevere with it, but please, and I've said it before on here, try to tone down the language.

A good story sells and tells itself and this one is good enough to stand on its own.

Phil

Title article: A Good Day for a Bad Mistake

Wot a Gotcha!
What the hell are you trying to do to me???

Talk about getting suckered in. Hands in the air pal, I got gotted!!

This was exceptional, and I can't for the life of me understand how I missed it.

Lunchtime nearly done and I stumble into the trap you set.

Brilliant, and I didn't even read the other reviews first!!

Going to now, though.

Phil

Title article: The Morning After The War
Date: 2008-08-18 06:15:13
Balanced
Balanced and well thought out.

It's not always easy to put both sides of an argument or debate - there's invariably some element of favouritism.

Found myself switching from one point of view to the other as it progressed. The nailing down of the 'My Country Right Or Wrong' jingoism was its final bow.

Good piece of luring into the story.

Phil

I guess I'd better sign your guest book and say "Hi Dad".
You know what I think about your writing - I like most of them (except for the one about the spiders you horrid man!), and the ones I don't are just not my cup of tea rather than there being anything wrong with them. I like the ones I already know best, like the wine one, or the ones about George and Poppy and co, but that's because I already know the stories, but enjoy the way you tell them.
Anyway, keep going with it Dad - you need to start making some money though to pay for my lifestyle!!! Lisa

Wow.

You been reading all my stories and now I feel bad I've haven't read many of yours. That gonna change, though. Just read your 'Layers of Innocence' and that was brilliant. You are truely a talented writer, my friend. I think I might start on your 'Stick' series next.

Oh yeah, you can keep your cats. I'm allergic to them, they make me go blind.

Keep well,

Max
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): That's great because George says his passport is out of date anyway.

I must say, I like Lulu as well. I haven't published on it, yet, though. I'm trying to finish writing and polishing a collection of short stories. I really like the way Lulu works. It's very nice. I'll have to go check your collection on Lulu out. Write on.

Sit back and breath...popping stories out faster then the Spears sisters. I read fast, but not THAT fast.
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): In take 'em while they're there........no fresh ideas for a day or so, but got a stock af three or four to keep me going.

i read the disaster recovery story, and typically, after reading a story i bolt over to the writer's profile before i comment. just in case it's a young'un - i don't want to tip any tea kettles...

if i like the writer's style, i usually look to see if he/she has other stories - and i hope for one or two.

jeez - you have many...

now i have a ton of reading to do.

write on!
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): Errrrm..........there's fewer than there used to be.

Deleted 21 and published them in a book on Lulu.com so you won't see them here any more.

Had Potter grumbling at me for speed writing, but when the ideas are there, it's a shame to waste them.

Thought one up last week just as I was dropping off to sleep, and for the life of me I can't remember what it was now.

Must keep pen and pad by the bedside in future.

Damocles was one like that, but this time it stuck until morning.

Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): Kind of, yes. This was also a warning to Punk that if he wants my cat he gonna have ta come and get him.............

Daughter took this one....you have to be quick with George otherwise he's apt to inspect the camera for himself.

He's myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy cat and nooooooooobody can have him.....he's not even for rent.

Meooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Hi! I just realized I haven't signed your guestbook yet so here we go. you might want to update your profile so it's not saying that the picture of you is George the cat lol
Feedback from Philip Neale (philneale1952): Now look, you've only got my word for it that the picture really isn't me..............agter all, I am a story teller.

Will get it swapped pretty damn quick guv'nor...

Phil (Or george) - he's pretty cool though (Geoge, not me............although....)

Well first off I would like to say that your mystery stories are some of the best if not the best I have ever read.

Second,

Hi.
