Thanks. It took me a couple of years to finally be able to write this. She was such a big part of my and my Dad's life. Presently, I'm working about five minutes from that same mall and often meet my Dad for lunch there on my lunch hour. I think it's important to try to be there for your parents as they grow old.

Title article: Back There
Date: 2008-04-13 14:14:34

I was in the mood for writing one day and found myself in a coffee shop staring at an empty page in my notebook, as if often the case. Because the front of the shop was so bright with windows, the back of the shop seemed dark and noisy. Somewhere back there, a baby was screaming blue murder. It was a bit distracting, but I really wasn't giving it a lot of thought. Then, the woman beside me said, "What the hell are they doing, killing babies back there?" That was the trigger from which this poem came to life.

LOL... that's for your imagination to work out.

I've always been a fan of ambiguous endings.

Thanks for asking.

Thanks. I was a big fan and have those characters ingrained in my memory. I find it a good way to practice character development, using characters you already know. Part two is on its way shortly.

LOL... Inspiration comes from strange place, sometimes. In actuality, it was an assignment in a poetry class I took a while back. We had to write an "Ode to..." poem about whatever we wanted. I wanted to write something different and unusual, and this was the results.

Thanks for your comment.

Title article: The Party

Thank you. I wrote it a while back. The photo is of Frankenstein's monster, actually. It sort of fits, since the poem's about not fitting in.
