good stuff
good descriptions and tones and everything but i think it lacks substance... like you have this great build up, the tone and everything is set and you got this nice character all felt out and then... he goes and just shanks some chick in a bar? was it in the middle of the bar? that he just shanks her? just.. whoops, shank in your breast... the end. know what i mean? like theres no conflict... maybe cept with the guy and the city or whatever but its not tangible... unless this is just part of something.. like later we find out this guy is gay and he just loves killing ladies and then finally when he tries shanking another girl she knows and she turns the table or somethin or maybe you could have him have split personalites and one of the personalities is a cop and a girl.. you know?

so the spider was the joke? I skimmed after awhile... the beginning was good, except when you used too two times in the same three lines.. it threw me off, like i thought i just read that... but really good stuff, nice serious descriptions and such... but the ending doesnt hold it all up... like i thought it was going to be a dramatic ending where the kids lead some other kid to the watering hole where they kill her or something.. bu then it was a spider? as good as the junxtaposition composition and exposition was, it was like thats all it was... this would go good in a longer story or novel... but not in such a short story where tension builds up for a mouse... you know i mean! jelly bean!

I liked how it was written.. i liked that it was written how i like it... but i cant say so much of whats in it that you wrote i liked too much... and i actually got a little depressed once you mentioned mowing the grass :( but i liked it reminding me of lazy days of summer... but like the lazy days of summer.. they get old... you could of added something about an alligator or a tiger attack or some evil pilgrims with magic pistols coming across that lake or whatever... well keep the flow i like it
