To resistanceisfreedom, thanks for the compliment. This doesn't mirror anything I've been through, of course, but the elements of false hope and delusional love I've seen in different situations. As for Pilgrim I will re-edit save for the part you mentioned. Dave was writing a letter and so having gramma errors are common. After all it was a letter to Karen and not a piece for Storisville. The mark of a good poem, in my opinion ought to leave the reader thinking that they wished they had written it, or had the ability to write it. I didn't get this impression from your poem

The word "negativity" I don't think belongs in the mix of a poem.  
And then I have a hard time with the idea of a killer having an eloquent sense of beauty and love.  
And then does he really have to think about what to do about a body floating in a pool, its done, nothing left to do.

Perhaps the Swaggerts and the Bakers of the world are no different in putting their morality  
"above it all" then your own immorality. Your both different sides of the same above it all coin.
