That paragraph beginning with, "It's no use..." is not supposed to be at the end of the story. It should appear after the paragraph ending with, "Yet, doubts plagued his mind," and be italicized. 
 
I'm not sure if this is an error on my part or the editor's, but I don't want there to be any confusion.
