About Myself: he asked, "who is your favorite poet?"
i flicked my ash,
then replied, "townes van zandt."

silence.

"townes van zandt isn't a poet." he says.
"how so? what are you?" i ask.
"a poet." he says.
"you're right then. townes van zandt is not you." i say.
i threw down money for my tab and left the bar.

Title article: In The Rain -- My first attempt at poetry
Date: 2008-07-10 22:49:25

writing poetry, it takes me as long as I can type— and that takes longer than i can think. i never force my mind to create a new poem.. i wait for my mind to compel me to write and when it does, i hand it a pen and watch as i smoke a cigarette.

Title article: Pulled Apart
Date: 2008-07-09 21:36:52

It's amazing how it only takes one person to bring you shelter amongst a storm, whether it be a loved one or a true friend. I like the somber overtone you placed in this writing of hope.

Title article: My Own Personal Hell
Date: 2008-07-09 21:26:21

A dark insight to the life that we live and the death that whispers among us as we sleep and awake to a new day; a new dying and nothing for it, we can do. Good job.

Title article: gone was the girl
Date: 2008-07-09 21:20:38

A written true emotion of leaving young, a person whom you too once were; and reflecting off the past bringing present, but surely will still remain forever your little girl.

Title article: I'll Be Stuck In Pain
Date: 2008-07-09 21:04:41

Reading this, I feel as though the walls and barriers come as our own flesh and the holder of emotion is our soul; soon to be released from what our tattered temple has endured in our life span to return to our Creator.

Title article: The Cure for Insomnia
Date: 2008-07-09 20:57:45

I feel like a child again! Mothered love in knowing what's best... and scared unsleepless, never to linger awake past my bedtime again! Well done and may your children sleep in peace, haha.

Title article: Sightless Sight
Date: 2008-07-09 20:47:15

A great message conveyed in an easily read manner. The seeing eye is a troublesome sight at times— bringing unwanted knowledge, and without it's sense: bliss-dulled visions of wanted ignorance.

Title article: Whistlin' Past the Graveyard
Date: 2008-07-05 13:13:13

I know that when I come on here to read what you've written, I won't leave disappointed. For this poem, a perfect title with words laced in precision, striking my thoughts effortlessly.

Title article: Tired Avenue Dirkin/Anna Devine
Date: 2008-07-05 13:02:24

My mouth feels replenished after reading this aloud; exercising muscles I never knew I had. Great usage of words in similarity, elegance, and meaning.
Good writing to both of you!

Title article: Just Wait...
Date: 2008-07-05 12:55:53

When I read this, I pictured a young lady arranging her hair in front of a vanity mirror thinking to herself. A very dainty and sweet writing full of poetic hope and sincerity.
Good job.
