And, okay, I'm a wordy bastard who believes good storytelling should be good escapism, too. Good writing should project vivid mental movies, and leave the reader with the feeling of having just enjoyed a welcome break from reality in another time or place. And I admit getting that escape might require more words than modern life generally wants to allow. But sometimes, it's worth the effort.

But really, what does "better" in this context mean? It's never explained. Anyway, keep up the writing!

Very Powerful
But most guys won't understand it. Not the emotional sentiment behind it. I know I don't understand that part. I'd like to have seen more clarity in the why of the woman's point of view. Why? What was her reason for emotionally rejecting him even as she allowed him to go on supporting her? Really, what's so wrong with this guy that the female in the story just doesn't want him? Is he too ugly? Is he too clingy? Too needy? Too...well, too loving? Or is the disconnect really on the woman's part? Great story, good writing, but it sure creates a lot of questions. On the other hand, though, I guess that's not a bad thing.
