About Myself: I have a lifelong love of reading and a secret desire to be an author, that my chronic bouts of procrastination have always managed to stall. I read The Lord of The Rings when I was nine, and from that most excellent starting point have always felt my favourite genre to be fantasy, although I consider the definition of fantasy to be as broad as the mind can wander. I would like to recommend the following authors: Brian Lumley, Katherine Kerr, Raymond E Feist, Robert Jordan, Jean M Auel, Anne Rice, Frank Herbert, Isaac Asimov and of course good ol' Tolkein. Wikipedia them or something, they're all excellent storytellers!

Title article: me and ego on the porch
Date: 2008-08-26 20:19:21

Interesting. I was reminded of some sort of creation fairy tale, like the dreamtime of the Aboriginal people.

Title article: Just Let Me Eat You
Date: 2008-08-26 20:10:07

I enjoyed this, though I admit I dont understand the ending. Where they looking at him because they were waiting for an invite all along? thats how i interpreted this.

Title article: Antz
Date: 2008-08-25 23:20:21

Funny and odd. I remember seeing a donald duck cartoon once where he waged war against the ants that were raiding his picnic, reminds me of that

Title article: Live Life Strange
Date: 2008-08-25 23:12:30

This is an inspiring message, played in my head like a pop song or something.

Title article: Lemon: a Haiku
Date: 2008-08-25 23:10:30

I know there are meant to be certain criteria for a haiku, such as theyre meant to be about nature, that they are supposed to be descriptive of an image, and philosophical with certain syllables etc. But I dont see why this like any other format cant be explored or experimented with. So dont give up, I thought it was interesting in that I never really considered how much a lemon was the odd one in the fruit family, not traditionally tasty but varied in use.

Title article: WO(W)NDERFUL WIFE
Date: 2008-08-25 20:53:30

the style of poetry you use is very limiting, when choosing rhyming words determines the poem it becomes nonsensical: the cat sat on the mat holding a bat eating a rat after he shat before he spat swatting a gnat loving the splat looking quite fat then he said drat I never knew that the jazz man could scat wearing a hat looking quite flat to kids he begat with his fat wife Pat. Dam thats actually pretty good. I'm gonna post this you've inspired me chaabuk. I'm guessing everyone had a version of the repeated comment from you, copied and pasted on one of their own stories (as I did). Try actually reading peoples work and participating, and people may be nicer

Title article: Postcard
Date: 2008-08-25 20:34:31

I liked this, short as it was, because it is about seing things from a different point of view, as a true artist would, against the norms of society (although I dont think I could ever look at varicose veins as beautiful)

Title article: Growing Up?
Date: 2008-08-25 20:29:56

I can certainly relate to this story, being twenty six, living out of home and noone but me and my gf to get chores done. The house slowly transforms into a garbage tip, until we can ignore it no longer, spend a whole day cleaning resolving to clean as we go from now on, but it never happens. As for growing up, I will be playing xbox when I'm in a nursing home I'm sure, but by then that will be so old fashioned to the young kids with their virtual reality games plugged straight into their cerebral cortex. Sorry for the ramble, I liked your narration, it was cheerful and kept interest.

Title article: SHE FOOLED THEM.
Date: 2008-08-25 20:22:05

Man, that had a truly haunting feel to it, the structure of having the first word of each stanza be the last line of a sentence or coma point was eery when I read this aloud. That picture was pretty cool, you must be a huge manga fan I'm guessing (seen ninja scroll?) I aplaud this poem, kudos

Title article: HE LOVED GRETA GARBO.
Date: 2008-08-25 20:19:34

I think that is why beautiful celebrities have so many admirers, they are the unreachable fantasy that is 'safe' in a way, when you never get to meet them and realise theyre just people, (unless your a stalker). Good tale Terry

Yeah, it's gonna have a lot more of a fantasy plot. I'm about to start the prologue in a little bit, and work out the plot some more.

Hehe enjoy! I think it turned out great.

There is a sequel in the talks. You think you'd be interested in doing another chapter?

The only authors i haven't read from your list are Kerr and Auel. Shame about Jordan, started reading the Wheel in 98.

Very nice work Dirkin. You should update that blog, I'll would be glad to link up. But, that's beside the point. You keep on writing, you're doing a hell of a job.
