About Myself: I have a lifelong love of reading and a secret desire to be an author, that my chronic bouts of procrastination have always managed to stall. I read The Lord of The Rings when I was nine, and from that most excellent starting point have always felt my favourite genre to be fantasy, although I consider the definition of fantasy to be as broad as the mind can wander. I would like to recommend the following authors: Brian Lumley, Katherine Kerr, Raymond E Feist, Robert Jordan, Jean M Auel, Anne Rice, Frank Herbert, Isaac Asimov and of course good ol' Tolkein. Wikipedia them or something, they're all excellent storytellers!

Why don't Monsters eat Clowns?
Because they taste funny.

Actually, a lot of my stories share the same city. "The Commodore" tales take place in the fictional city Babylon, as does "The Rolling Stone" and "NOIR". The character Mercedes Masterson, who is the younger sister of the narrator of "NOIR", eventually crosses paths with The Commodore in a trilogy of film noir movies we are filming. We're currently in-production of the second film, in which The Commodore enters the series of films.

Also, the "David Spencer, Private Eye" story takes place in Babylon and mentions the Calvin mob family which will make an appearance at the end of "NOIR" and are prominent characters in the film noir trilogy, "Kings."

I also often consider "Rose's Thorn" taking place in Babylon, though it is never specified.

You're the first person I know of that's caught a connection between stories. Thanks.

Here's a teaser clip for "Kings 2", the guy in the black suit, sunglasses and duel pistols plays The Commodore (grown up, obviously):

I see the poem being as about enjoying the moment to forget your troubles, elnalda. Mr Potter, I wrote the first and third stanzas!

She was 77? ewww! Hey man I gave this a chance because I'm not bothered by sexual content, so here's my review: The story was a little lacking for the most part, at first it seemed more like a penthouse letter. As it went on I appreciated the backstory and motivation of the character, although to me he comes off as a creepy wierdo, getting aroused by a granny. The keywords at the bottom made me laugh, because when he was fifteen and she molested him I thought: gross child molester, If it was an old man and a fifteen year old girl it would be just as gross. Anyway I found this disturbing, but I think there was some ok writing alongside the sexual content

I liked the straight forward nature of this; often poetry gets so vague and abstract it can be hard to understand. This was an outpouring of raw emotions.

This was nice, short and sweet. I dont get the title though?

This gave me shudders when I imagined (quite rightly) that it was a human on the table, as his eye was being popped out. Animal rights are one of those areas of life in shades of grey and brown, like the doctors, where noone will ever conceed the argument of ends justifying the means. Thought provoking story, well done

That was very interesting! I got what you were aiming for I think. Five for experimentation, and also for showing something I have always believed; that font, layout and formatting can have a subconscious effect on the mood of what you are reading.

Wow man, you are an extremely stylish and talented writer! I find your narration addictive, I cant think of a better way of saying that once I start reading I cant stop until its over. As for the story, well it was interesting but maybe a little confusing, I wondered who the 'couple of morons' were? Also, it doesnt really say why he was in the cell, unlesz its implied that he has anger issues and violence towards his wife? Anyway, great job man

Title article: Building Steam with a Grain of God

Wow! That was absoultely mesmerising I felt like I was listening to Jim morrison narrate this. I completely agree with the message, its depressing when you realize exactly how much society shapes our destiny, that whatever we end up doing its where we were pushed to go. Kudos 5 stars

Ahahahaha. I love an episode of south park where oprah's vagina takes people hostage. For some reason that woman is ripe for the parodyin'. Good stuff

I'm reading this again after seeing elnadas comment. I'm not sure I agree with the idea that homage has to be different from the original. And I see this as a homage to fight club, not palahniuk neccessarily. You might say that the most striking elements of fight club are the twists and the style. It wouldn't be a homage to an excellent tale without them. But enough splitting hairs, well done zombie, enjoyable read
