About Myself: I have a lifelong love of reading and a secret desire to be an author, that my chronic bouts of procrastination have always managed to stall. I read The Lord of The Rings when I was nine, and from that most excellent starting point have always felt my favourite genre to be fantasy, although I consider the definition of fantasy to be as broad as the mind can wander. I would like to recommend the following authors: Brian Lumley, Katherine Kerr, Raymond E Feist, Robert Jordan, Jean M Auel, Anne Rice, Frank Herbert, Isaac Asimov and of course good ol' Tolkein. Wikipedia them or something, they're all excellent storytellers!

The only authors i haven't read from your list are Kerr and Auel. Shame about Jordan, started reading the Wheel in 98.

Very nice work Dirkin. You should update that blog, I'll would be glad to link up. But, that's beside the point. You keep on writing, you're doing a hell of a job.

Okay, here's a better one:

Why don't Monsters eat Clowns?
Because they taste funny.

Heh...
Feedback from Mugen (Dirkin): Hmm i don't know any mexican jokes... (aussie), try this: why did the boy fall off the swingset? he had no arms.

by brave I mean you have forced people to think about the world we live in. most people dont even want to think about this sort of thing happening. Very confronting subject matter

Good lord! You are definitely brave in attempting such a disturbing tale. The whole scenario seems unreal, which makes it even more disturbing when I think that there really are things like this happening in the world. I think your poetry is coming in leaps and bounds, I only suggest that you consider ways to rearrange a sentence so that its shorter or longer as its needed: But the baby was ready to come out when between Her legs leaked a waterfall of tears,

could be
while between her legs leaked a waterfall of tears

This makes the stanza flow better when the second line and last line have the same or similar numbers of syllables.

You could go further than that and attempt to have all stanzas have matching syllables. Or not. Sometimes that comes down to personal choice and style, which you certainly have all of your own. Well done

eek! thats creepy. Quite a disturbed perspective on abduction

Interesting like a timeless fable. I see the message loud and clear, greed destroys beauty. Although I;m sure the swans were probably glad they were freed from 900 years of being swans! Great job anna

I think the rhyming and structure was excellent. I am confused by the line:
But I'd awake from my death and crawl out of my tomb

I'm guessing thats not meant to be literal. Unless this is an undead love ballad. Which would be cool.
Nice job man

Title article: Death

Very good. I allways see death as a character as hard to understand, so many people dying every second of the day, he would need santa clause powers to visit each one to take them to heaven or hell, (Or whatever deaths job is supposed to be). Good work exploring death through poetry.

Title article: House of Pain

I remember the moody days of high school teens. I think they call them emo's these days. A good rhyme, with some interesting visuals

Title article: Secret Wars
Date: 2008-07-09 20:01:24

This was an allright poem, I think the message is a relevant one these days, especially for drinkers. I read this out loud and the flow was off. Try rearranging the lines to have the same syllables

Title article: The Cure for Insomnia

The title of this poem lied to me, because I havent been able to sleep since I read it! I liked the creepy feel this had, reminds me of the rhyme from the nightmare on elm street movies.

Title article: Diary of a Fat Girl

I have only just finished reading a story called growth, with similar issues, but a much more depressed and hopeless girl. I have to say I enjoyed the main character of this, because she was more determined and humorous about her struggle, recognizing that results come with hard work. She might be down, but she will be fine when she achieves her goal. While The character of the deli guy was an interesting touch, I certainly know the feeling of being unable to stop myself saying something retarded. I would be interested in reading more
