About Myself: I have a lifelong love of reading and a secret desire to be an author, that my chronic bouts of procrastination have always managed to stall. I read The Lord of The Rings when I was nine, and from that most excellent starting point have always felt my favourite genre to be fantasy, although I consider the definition of fantasy to be as broad as the mind can wander. I would like to recommend the following authors: Brian Lumley, Katherine Kerr, Raymond E Feist, Robert Jordan, Jean M Auel, Anne Rice, Frank Herbert, Isaac Asimov and of course good ol' Tolkein. Wikipedia them or something, they're all excellent storytellers!

Ahah! Now we know who it was (or do we?) I'm going to have to google the lemon dance...

Dude this is a really cool concept. I would like to see more explanation on how frank managed to stalk her so intimately over the years without detection, maybe he has hidden cameras in her house? maybe he was the janitor at her school? I found this story captivating and twisted, one of your finest max

Title article: Politically Correct?

Very nice poem. I'm not sure that comparing smoking to the inequality of a race or sexuality is entirely a valid argument, at least to me (I smoke) I see it as a habit, not as a classification system, because all the gay dwarf w/e's out there can smoke too

Title article: Some Haiku's
Date: 2008-08-17 20:45:56

Thank you all for your comments. Actually in the second one I was attempting to capture how the lame or injured seagull manipulates us into throwing them the chip above all the other seagulls, from pity. Thanks again dasgupta, I see how contrast can make the haiku more poignant

Thanks max! I tried not to be too obvious or too vague, I can see I didn't quite succeed at either.

I'm not sure I see much difference between this and the first, maybe I'm not looking hard enough

Interesting... I never pictured the admin as bald!

Title article: Panhandling Scum

You tell a good story with this poem, almost makes me want to be homeless! It goes to show that everyone you see, even homeless people can have deep thoughts of their own

Title article: Twelve Step Madness
Date: 2008-08-16 20:06:16

I really liked the way you played with the length of the lines to create a visual set of stairs with with poem, in fact I just read it again, yep twelve steps! It read to me like the first lines had massive amounts of expression for so few words. I will admit I dont get the reference of robots in what for me is a poem about substance abuse, it seemed a bit out of place. Well done very original concept Max

Yeah, it's gonna have a lot more of a fantasy plot. I'm about to start the prologue in a little bit, and work out the plot some more.

Hehe enjoy! I think it turned out great.

There is a sequel in the talks. You think you'd be interested in doing another chapter?

The only authors i haven't read from your list are Kerr and Auel. Shame about Jordan, started reading the Wheel in 98.

Very nice work Dirkin. You should update that blog, I'll would be glad to link up. But, that's beside the point. You keep on writing, you're doing a hell of a job.

Okay, here's a better one:

Why don't Monsters eat Clowns?
Because they taste funny.

Heh...
Feedback from Mugen (Dirkin): Hmm i don't know any mexican jokes... (aussie), try this: why did the boy fall off the swingset? he had no arms.
