Interesting use of techinique
Good job for a first time. 
Your techinque of switching Point of View is interesting and keeps the reader thinking (something sorely lacking in many romance stories) and helps create a sort of web between the characters.  
Very nice for a first story. Fine tune your art. Try rewriting it a few times. It worked for Hemingway...

A little gross but good style.
You have an interesing style.  
I like the techinique. Bu the only thing that I would suggest is be careful with the little boy and the "Special Friend" thing.  
It is very questionable in today's society...

Could be promising...
Seems a little like a soap opera. Though, the romance genre lends itself towards that easily. 
She seems to be an in-depth character. But what are her motivations? Why does her mother put up with it all? 
What about Jesse? I am assuming the savior is him, though I would love to be pleasently surprised.  
I think I will keep an eye on this one, to see if it fulfils the potential I see here.
